Friends of the Mountains to Sea
The Mountains-to-Sea Trail (MST) runs 1000 miles across North Carolina from Clingmans Dome in the Smokies to Jockey’s Ridge State Park on the Outer Banks. In 2000, the NC Legislature designated the MST as a State Park. Since then, citizens and state and local governments have been working hard to get the trail on the ground. To date, more than 500 miles of footpath have been built.
